Job summary

Hall & Woodhouse Limited is seeking a Mechanical Shift Engineer for our Blandford brewery. This role offers a stable, long-term position with no night shifts and clear career development within a modern brewing site.

You will perform PPM and reactive maintenance on steam, hydraulics, compressed air, cooling and water systems, while maintaining CMMS records and ensuring compliance with PSSR and LOLER. Shift pattern is 06:00–14:00 / 14:00–22:00, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• 3+ years engineering experience in FMCG, food, beverage or manufacturing.
• Mechanical engineering qualification (NVQ, apprenticeship, or equivalent).
• Strong knowledge of steam systems, hydraulics, compressed air, cooling and water systems.
• Familiar with PSSR and LOLER compliance.
• Good IT skills and proficiency with maintenance systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance.
• Maintain and repair mechanical systems (steam, hydraulics, compressed air, cooling, water).
• Ensure compliance with engineering standards (PSSR, LOLER).
• Complete calibration schedules and regulatory checks.
• Support continuous improvement to reduce downtime and downtime.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records using CMMS/IT systems.
• Promote health & safety best practice on site.

What you'll do as Shift Engineer / Mechanical Maintenance Engineer:

• Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance
