Job Opportunity: Maintenance Engineer

The Recruitment Co is currently recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer to work for an established, growing business in the Blackpool area.

Salary: £32,000 – £36,000 per annum (negotiable depending on experience)

Working hours: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, Monday – Friday

Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Carry out maintenance work on production machinery, mechanical systems, and utilities.
2. Recognize breakdowns and carry out repairs promptly to reduce downtime.
3. Manage tool room operations, including issuance, repair, storage, and tracking of tools, jigs, and fixtures.
4. Operate machine tools (e.g., lathe, milling machine, surface grinder) to support repairs and fabrication needs.
5. Ensure calibration of tools and measuring instruments is up to date.
6. Keep maintenance and workspace organized, using spreadsheets and maintenance management system software.
7. Assist in machine installation, setup, and modification projects.
8. Ensure compliance with safety protocols and contribute to a safe working environment.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience with general maintenance tasks and tool room equipment.
• Ability to read technical drawings and work independently.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to work in a small team and assist across departments when needed.
