Job description

Our UK Engineering team is expanding, and an opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer from an electrical background has arisen to join our existing Engineering department at our NKT Applications, Runcorn cable manufacturing facility.

With your background and experience in all things electrical, including PLCs, you will be part of an emerging manufacturing facility in a varied role, working Monday to Friday, with some occasional overtime. We will provide on-the-job training on specialist equipment, and you will be part of a close-knit team supporting our growth as we increase manufacturing capacity—availability of equipment is essential.

You will be responsible for routine maintenance, breakdown repairs, and fault finding for our facility with specialist machinery to ensure efficiency is maintained across the site.

This role would suit an electrical maintenance engineer with at least 5 years’ experience in a similar industry, looking to join a global cable manufacturer.

The Role
  • Responsible for routine maintenance, breakdown repairs, and fault finding for our facility with specialist machinery to ensure efficiency is maintained across the site.
  • Identify and implement improvements on equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant site HSE guidelines.
  • Support production activities.
The Person

We are looking for a knowledgeable, accountable, and responsible electrical engineer who can deliver excellent engineering services to the business. An innovative, team-oriented individual willing to share their knowledge and experience with the team.

Your qualifications and experience should include
  • Time-served apprentice – Electrical Bias.
  • HNC/HND recommended but not essential.
  • IOSH Training.
  • 5+ years of experience in Electrical Instrumentation and Controls.
  • PLC fault-finding experience.
  • A basic understanding of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems would be beneficial but not essential.
