Job summary

Kinetic plc is seeking a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer for our Blackburn site. You will join a small team performing both electrical and mechanical duties on food processing machinery, conducting preventive maintenance and timely repairs.

Key tasks include coordinating with the Engineering Manager to source parts, recording corrective actions, and driving down downtime while ensuring HACCP, COSHH and GMP compliance across shifts.

Qualifications

• Strong Electrical and Mechanical knowledge on food processing machinery.
• Process control knowledge required.
• Experience building electrical control systems from switchgear to software.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a small team of multi-disciplinary engineers.
• Undertake PPMs on equipment.
• Record actions to identify recurrent faults.
• Coordinate with Engineering Manager to source parts.
• Minimise site downtime after breakdowns.
• Develop skills and knowledge continuously.
• Comply with health, safety and environmental policies.

Position: Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer

Contract: Permanent

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a small team of multi-disciplined engineers
• Undertake PPM's on equipment
• Action repairs and ensure all measures taken are recorded so recurrent faults can be recognised
• Liaise with the Engineering Manager and Senior Engineer to ensure the supply of appropriate parts
• Minimise the amount of downtime suffered by the site following machine breakdowns
• Continually develop your skills and knowledge
• Comply with all health, safety and environmental policies and procedures

Skills & Requirements

• Strong Electrical and Mechanical knowledge and ability on Food processing machinery
• Process control knowledge
• Competent in building electrical control systems from switchgear through to software implementation
• Engineering apprenticeship and associated qualifications such as BTEC ONC, HNC, HND in Electrical Engineering is essential
• Have a proven track record in an Engineering and fault‑finding role gained from within a FMCG environment
• Have a good understanding of HACCP, COSHH and GMP principles
• Drive Root Cause Analysis and strive to prevent re‑occurrence with counter measures
• PLC fault finding
• CMMS experience and knowledge
• Ability to deploy and execute the preventative maintenance strategy for the site

Shift: 4 on 4 off days and nights OR 18.00 - 06.00
