Maintenance Engineer

Monday - Friday (Perm Nights / 8 hour shifts)

Job Summary: This role is essential in supporting the Distribution Centre to operate at its full potential, maintaining equipment to a high standard, and minimizing production/area downtime.

The Maintenance Technician will maintain service equipment and handle day-to-day maintenance tasks, ensuring a safe, secure, clean, and well-maintained environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with maintenance activities on shift to resolve issues promptly, minimizing operational impact, especially during peak times. Work on equipment such as automated sorters, conveyors, sensors, and motors.
  • Prioritize and manage machine faults.
  • Establish best practices for machine printing.
  • Support and develop internal applications.
  • Fix, maintain, and troubleshoot conveyor systems, including sensors, motors, relays, and drives.
  • Support and install automation machinery, and maintain power distribution systems.
  • Implement best practices and LEAN methodologies to improve performance.
  • Collaborate with other engineering colleagues.
  • Develop good working relationships internally and externally with suppliers.
  • Provide feedback to improve personal and team performance.
  • Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety, and Environment policies, reporting incidents accurately.

Requirements:

  • Apprenticeship / Electrical or Mechanical NVQ Lv3.
  • Engineering experience.
  • Experience with:
    • Automated conveyor systems and controls.
    • Electrical and electronic principles.
    • Reading blueprints and electrical schematics.
    • Preventative maintenance procedures.
    • Industrial electrical controls and electronics.
  • Knowledge of statutory compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • A positive, proactive attitude with a customer focus.
  • Team player, hard-working, eager to learn, and adaptable.
