Brief Description

As an Assistant Signalling and Telecoms Maintenance Engineer, you will oversee the Technical Support Team and Control Centre Technicians, supporting the Maintenance Engineering team with technical, analytical, and data quality support. You will assist the Signal & Telecoms Maintenance Engineer as needed.

Role Responsibilities

• Manage and direct technical teams to meet business objectives and KPIs.
• Develop team members and foster engagement.
• Ensure staff safety and competence.
• Monitor asset performance, reliability, and efficiency.
• Provide technical guidance and support.
• Conduct survey and design work.
• Manage assurance and non-compliance processes.
• Perform technical inspections and investigations.
• Coordinate track monitoring activities and manage system records.
• Review and approve work plans and method statements.
• Conduct staff surveillance and asset condition checks.

Candidate Requirements

• Relevant technical competence and knowledge of maintenance processes.
• Understanding of safety, compliance, and operational railway environment.
• Familiarity with standards, procedures, and design knowledge.
• Experience in incident management and multidisciplinary knowledge.
• IRSE Signalling Licence (preferred).
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• HNC/HND or equivalent qualification.

Desirable

• Knowledge of coaching techniques.
