Job summary

Alchem Partners is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join a family owned chemical manufacturing business in Bamber Bridge. The ideal candidate will have a mechanical bias and be capable of diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical breakdowns, ensuring minimal downtime.

This position offers a salary of £40,138 per annum, with overtime opportunities, and requires a commitment of 37.5 hours per week from Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a general engineering role.
• Basic appreciation for electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical breakdowns and execute repairs.
• Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on machinery.

Job description

Alchem Partners is currently representing a family owned chemical manufacturing business based in the Northwest, with over 100 years in the industry and a solution driven and customer centric approach.

This role will suit a mechanically biased individual who has some basic appreciation for electrical, and is currently recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer to join the existing maintenance team.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical breakdowns and execute repairs promptly to minimise downtime.
• Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on a variety of machinery and equipment.
• Carry out scheduled work tasks and reports.
• Manage stock of components and fittings, reordering as required.
• Operation of CMMS system.
• Completion of PPMs.
• Liaise with supplier reps.
• Maintain accurate service records and history reports.
• Understand and comply with ‘lockout tagout’ procedures, COMAH etc.
• Any other reasonable duties relevant to the role.

Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications

• City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 or above in Engineering
• Knowledge of FMCGs machinery
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a general engineering role

In return our client is offering a salary of £40,138 per annum, plus overtime paid at time and a half, on average 25 hours available throughout the month should you choose to work it.

This role is 37.5 hours a week Monday – Friday.
