Job summary

Amey is recruiting a Maintenance Electrician for a long-term MoJ contract. The role offers a stable, permanent path with a competitive salary of £30,866–£36,135 and a 39-hour week with a 15% weekend allowance.

You will perform planned and reactive electrical work, tests per BS7671, and support safe, secure environments on-site at HMP Hewell near Redditch. We value problem-solvers with Level 2 electrical qualifications and 18th Edition (or 17th with upskilling).

Qualifications

• Level 2 Electrical Qualifications (or equivalent).
• 18th Edition (or 17th with willingness to upskill).
• Experience in maintenance or similar environments.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
• A proactive, safety-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Planned and reactive electrical maintenance across the site.
• Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs.
• Undertaking electrical testing in line with BS7671.
• Supporting safe, compliant and secure environments.
• Working both independently and as part of a wider facilities team.
