Job summary

• Proven experience in electrical maintenance in commercial, healthcare, education, residential or similar environments.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Experience supervising contractors and specialist suppliers.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rota.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned electrical maintenance across building services.
• Perform reactive electrical repairs and fault finding safely and efficiently.
• Support statutory checks including emergency lighting and PAT testing.
• Assist with minor installations and building services improvements.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and update helpdesk systems.
• Coordinate and supervise contractors and specialist suppliers.
• Assist with building management systems and facilities operations.
• Participate in an on-call rota for out-of-hours emergencies.

Maintenance Technician (Electrical)

South London Full Time 37.5 Hours per Week + On-Call Rota

CPC Recruitment are delighted to be supporting a leading healthcare organisation in the appointment of an experienced Maintenance Technician (Electrical) to join their Facilities Team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified electrical maintenance professional looking to work within a rewarding and varied environment, helping to ensure essential building services and facilities remain safe, compliant and fully operational. The role is primarily focused on electrical maintenance but will also involve supporting mechanical, plumbing and general building services as part of a multi-skilled maintenance team.

The Role

Reporting to the Senior Facilities Manager, you will carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs and fault finding across a wide range of electrical systems, plant and building services.

Key responsibilities include:

• Carrying out planned and reactive electrical maintenance
• Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults safely and efficiently
• Supporting statutory compliance checks including emergency lighting and PAT testing
• Undertaking minor installation and improvement works
• Maintaining accurate maintenance records and updating helpdesk systems
• Supporting the management of contractors and specialist suppliers
• Assisting with building management systems and facilities operations
• Participating in an out-of-hours emergency call-out rota
• Supporting wider maintenance activities across the estate where required
• Ensuring compliance with all relevant Health & Safety legislation and electrical regulations

About You

• Recognised Electrical Apprenticeship
• City & Guilds Level 3 Electrical Qualification
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification
• Proven experience in electrical maintenance within a commercial, healthcare, education, residential or similar environment
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• Experience supervising contractors and specialist suppliers
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rota and respond to emergency call-outs
