Job description

Are you an experienced Maintenance Engineer with an electrical bias? Are you keen to support solutions within the manufacturing sector? If so, the following permanent role could be for you.

My client is a leading manufacturer of custom-made steel door solutions in the Newcastle-under-Lyme area. They are looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join them ASAP on a permanent basis.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining machinery and equipment to agreed plans and timeframes. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including procurement, planning, finance, and production operations to minimise machine downtime and drive continuous improvement.

You Will Be Responsible For

• Electrical systems maintenance
• Carrying out routine electrical maintenance work and responding to electrical faults or breakdowns promptly, especially for the paint system and punch and press machines
• Helping resolve electrical emergencies, unplanned problems, and repairs
• Maintaining and promoting a safe electrical working environment, following all safety rules and regulations
• Continuous monitoring and improvement

You Will Have

• Appropriate electrical engineering HNC or equivalent qualification
• Minimum 2 years' experience as a maintenance engineer with an electrical bias
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge and use of handheld power tools
• Ability to read and understand technical 2D drawings
• Attention to detail
