Job summary

Networking Women in the Fire Service is seeking a Maintenance Operative Driver to cover stations across South Yorkshire. The role supports the safe and efficient running of Fire Service premises by carrying out basic maintenance, porterage, caretaking and driving duties.

You will work closely with the Helpdesk and station teams, prioritise tasks and adapt to changing operational needs, including welfare supplies for incidents and routine safety checks once trained.

Qualifications

• Basic DIY knowledge and practical skills.
• Understanding of Health & Safety in the workplace.
• Experience in providing a general porterage service.
• Experience of delivering excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out basic maintenance and minor repairs, routine cleaning and grounds-related tasks across Fire Service premises, ensuring work is safe and to a good standard.
