Job summary

YMCA DownsLink Group is seeking a Cleaner to join the Maintenance team across East Sussex. The role involves hands‑on cleaning of properties, assisting with voids and ensuring compliance with safety standards at all times.

You will work across sites near Eastbourne and Hastings, driving a full, valid UK license as a vehicle is provided. The post supports housing services for young people aged 16-25 and requires reliable, safety‑mocused individuals.

Qualifications

• Experience providing a cleaning service.
• Knowledge of health and safety in the workplace.
• Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
• Good customer relationship skills.

Responsibilities

• Complete day-to-day cleaning in YMCA DownsLink Group properties, ensuring quality standards, safety, and timescales.
• Assist the maintenance team with voids work from 'keys in' to ready-to-let.
• Work across allocated sites, plan travel and workload to meet priorities.
• Liaise with Supported Housing Managers or Repairs Supervisor when access or time is an issue.
• Communicate clearly with residents and staff regarding tasks and timescales.
• Maintain records of work undertaken and meet service standards.
