Job summary

Swansea Bay University Health Board is seeking a Maintenance Carpenter to ensure the day-to-day efficient and safe operation of building services across its healthcare premises in Swansea. The post requires technical knowledge of structures, fabric, fittings and finishes within clinical environments.

The role involves working at heights, lone-working when needed, and participating in an on-call rota to respond to emergencies.

Qualifications

• Maintenance experience within building services.
• Ability to work as a lone worker and manage on-call requirements.
• Experience in health and safety practices relevant to healthcare facilities.
• Ability to read and follow complex technical instructions.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day safe operation of building services across healthcare premises.
• Work at heights using ladders, cradles, zip-ups and scaffolding after training.
• Keep work areas safe, secure and tidy at all times.
• Drive/operate plant, machinery and Health Board vehicles following training.
• Work within Health Board safety policies and procedures.
• Participate in an on-call rota to attend emergency repairs when required.
