Barnet Lane Clinic in Borehamwood is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to help keep the service, buildings and equipment fit for purpose and to support a safe environment for vulnerable service users.

You will work with an established team, undertake a range of maintenance tasks, liaise with contractors, and participate in a one-week on-call rota. A full UK driving license is required, and the role offers comprehensive training and development opportunities.

Join Barnet Lane Clinic in Borehamwood as a Maintenance Assistant where you will be part of creating a well- presented and safe environment for some of the most vulnerable people in society.

As a Maintenance Assistant, you will be responsible for ensuring the services facilities are fit for purpose, gardening and will regularly conduct audits to identify and repair any faults ensuring a safe environment for service users, staff and visitors.

Working alongside an established team, you will turn your hand to all maintenance-related tasks, liaising with contractors to support the upkeep of the service.

Please note that, a full UK driving license is a mandatory requirement for this role.

This is a full time position of 37.5 hours a week. Monday-Friday 9am-5pm with flexibility to accommodate alternative hours such as 8am-4pm.

As a Maintenance Assistant you will have:

• Assisting with ensuring that the service, buildings, facilities and equipment requirements are maintained and fit for purpose.
• Utilising good DIY skills to ensure safety of service users is maintained.
• Assisting in regular checks and maintenance.
• Assistingin the repair and maintenance of all buildings.
• Assisting in all decorating.
• Liaising with a manager reporting all faults and defects.
• Participating in a 1 week retaining on-call rota for the purposes of emergency maintenance.
• Coordinating and supporting contractors whilst on site and completing of all paperwork and tool checks.

Barnet Lane’s Complex Care and Recovery Service (CCRS) is a highly specialised, bespoke inpatient adult service designed to support individuals whose needs exceed the scope of traditional inpatient service models.

The service specialises in treating patients who have experienced multiple or prolonged admissions, stalled discharge pathways, or who have been unable to progress within conventional care environments.
