Elysium Healthcare is seeking a Maintenance Assistant at Gregory House in Workington to keep the service, buildings and equipment in good repair and safe for adults with learning disabilities and mental health needs.

You will perform maintenance tasks, liaise with contractors, and support safety and quality across the facilities, with training provided and opportunities for career development within a supportive team.

Join Gregory House in Workington as a Maintenance Assistant where you will be part of creating a well- presented and safe environment for some of the most vulnerable people in society.

As a Maintenance Assistant, you will be responsible for ensuring the services facilities are fit for purpose, gardening and will regularly conduct audits to identify and repair any faults ensuring a safe environment for service users, staff and visitors.

Working alongside an established team, you will turn your hand to all maintenance-related tasks, liaising with contractors to support the upkeep of the service.

As a Maintenance Assistant you will be:

• Assisting with ensuring that the service, buildings, facilities and equipment requirements are maintained and fit for purpose
• Utilising good DIY skills to ensure safety of service users is maintained
• Assisting in regular checks and maintenance
• Assistingin the repair and maintenance of all buildings
• Liaising with a manager reporting all faults and defects
• Participating in a 1 week retaining on-call rota for the purposes of emergency maintenance
• Coordinating and supporting contractors whilst on site and completing of all paperwork and tool checks

To be successful in this role, you will:

• Comply with system and procedures
• Have previous experience within a maintenance role
• Work effectively as part of a team and independently
• Show courtesy and respect to residents at all times to ensure that they enjoy the highest quality of service
• Attend and participate in training sessions and staff meetings

Where you will be working:

Location: Furness Road, Workington, Cumbria, CA14 3PD

You will be working at Gregory House, a Learning Disability and Autism service, providing care and support to 22 adults who have a Learning Disability and/or Mental Health needs.

You will work alongside the team helping to provide a specialist provision. The service has an enhanced level of support to allow people with continuing challenging behaviour and high support needs to be cared for in the least restrictive setting possible, but within a service which is robust and structured enough to meet their ongoing needs and risks.
