Job summary

Richmond Hill Hotel is seeking an exceptional Maintenance Assistant to join our maintenance team on a casual basis. You’ll help keep the hotel running smoothly behind the scenes, ensuring a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained environment for guests.

A typical day involves routine maintenance such as cleaning and maintaining air conditioning units, descaling showerheads and taps, checking lighting and fittings, and carrying out basic repairs.

Qualifications

• Experience in hospitality or service industry preferred.
• Demonstrates a natural ability to engage with guests and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Assist with routine maintenance tasks to keep hotel operations running smoothly.
• Maintain air conditioning units and fixtures, descale showers heads and taps, check lighting and fittings.
• Carry out basic repairs and respond to maintenance requests from Housekeeping and Front Office.
• Support the Maintenance Technicians on planned projects and improvements.

A Day in the Life of a Maintenance Assistant

As a Maintenance Assistant, no two days are ever quite thesame. You play a key role in making sure our hotel runs smoothly behind thescenes, ensuring every guest enjoys a safe, comfortable, and well-maintainedenvironment.

A large part of your role will involve routine maintenancetasks such as cleaning and maintaining air conditioning units, descaling showerheads and taps, checking lighting and fittings, and carrying out basic repairs.You’ll take pride in spotting issues before they become problems and ensuringhigh standards are maintained across the hotel.

Throughout the day, you’ll work closely with otherdepartments, particularly Housekeeping and Front Office, responding quickly toany maintenance-related requests. You’ll also support the MaintenanceTechnicians and wider team with planned maintenance projects and ongoingimprovements across the property.

Health and safety will be at the heart of everything you do.You’ll ensure all work is completed safely, equipment is used correctly, andany risks or hazards are reported and addressed promptly.

By the end of the day, you’ll know you’ve played animportant part in keeping the hotel running smoothly and ensuring every guesthas a seamless experience.
