Brunel University London on the Uxbridge Campus is recruiting a Maintenance Assistant to join the Estates and Facilities team. Reporting to the Building and Facilities Supervisor, you will deliver reactive and planned maintenance across halls of residence and off-campus properties.

You will be responsible for first-fix repairs, compliance tasks, and ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for students and staff. The team currently consists of 12 members and supports a hybrid working approach.

Job description

We are recruiting for a Maintenance Assistant to join our Buildings and Facilities team. Reporting to the Building and Facilities Supervisor, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality reactive and planned maintenance services across our halls of residence and off-campus properties.

Position Title: Maintenance Assistant – 16429

Directorate/Department: Estates and Facilities/ Facilities and Operational Maintenance

Location: Brunel University London, Uxbridge Campus

Salary: Grade from: £25,704 to £25,858 per annum inclusive of London Weighting with potential to progress to £26,250 per annum inclusive of London Weighting through sustained exceptional contribution. (Pro-rata for Part-time)

Hours: Full-time

Contract Type: Permanent

You’ll be responsible for first-fix repairs, compliance tasks, and ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for students and staff. The team currently consists of 12 members, with additional temporary staff and contractors joining during peak summer periods.

• Trade/maintenance knowledge and experience (preferably with recognised qualifications)
• A good working knowledge of digital systems
