Job summary

Champneys Springs is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Assistant to join our team. You will support upkeep of our properties, focusing on painting and decorating to maintain high presentation standards for guests across our estates.

Role involves general maintenance, planned and reactive tasks, and collaboration with the Maintenance Manager to ensure safety and quality in both interior and exterior spaces.

Qualifications

• Strong painting and decorating experience (essential).
• Good all-round maintenance knowledge, including basic building, plumbing or electrical work.
• Willingness to take on varied tasks.
• Attention to detail and pride in delivering quality work.
• Team player with good communication skills.
• NVQ/City & Guilds or Health & Safety qualifications desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance and repair work across the property.
• Take ownership of painting, decorating and finishing tasks, ensuring a high-quality standard throughout.
• Assist with planned preventative maintenance programmes to minimise disruption to guests.
• Maintain both interior and exterior building fabric, ensuring spaces are safe, functional and visually appealing.
• Support general repairs across plumbing, basic electrical, and building works.
• Ensure Health & Safety compliance at all times, including fire safety awareness and hazard reporting.
• Complete required training and support wider team activities as needed

The Role

We are looking for a hands-on and versatile Maintenance Assistant with strong painting and decorating skills to join our team.

This is a key role supporting the upkeep and presentation of our properties—ensuring all buildings, facilities and guest areas are maintained to the highest possible standard, both functionally and visually.

You’ll work closely with the Maintenance Manager, supporting both planned and reactive maintenance, with a particular focus on maintaining the look and feel of our beautiful estates.

Key Responsibilities
