Job summary

THE PIG Hotel in Brockenhurst is hiring a Maintenance Assistant to join our dedicated maintenance team. You will help maintain the hotel’s functionality, efficiency, and safety, including preventative maintenance and basic repairs.

The role requires a hands-on attitude; experience in PAT testing, electrics, plumbing, fire safety, carpentry, plant room management, and health & safety is preferred. Enjoy perks such as staff stays, dining discounts, and learning opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role is preferred.
• Qualifications or exposure to PAT testing, electrics, plumbing, fire safety, carpentry, plant room management, health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Carry out basic repairs to facilities and equipment.
• Paint and decorate as required to maintain hotel standards.
• Assist in coordinating renovations/projects and support Maintenance Manager.

Job description

Location: THE PIG Hotel, Brockenhurst, SO42 7QL

Salary: £12.71 per hour (OTE £14.16 per hour, including tronc)

Hours: 35 hours per week, over 5 days.

We are currently looking for a Maintenance Assistant to join our dedicate maintenance team.

As a Maintenance Assistant you will work as part of a small team, cohesively maintaining the functionality, efficiency, health & safety of the hotel. The ability to manage preventative maintenance is key, along with knowledge and understanding of fire safety.

You will be required to be 'hands on’ expressing a ‘can do’ attitude. Most of the responsibilities will involve basic repairs of damaged facilities, equipment, painting and decorating, at times you may be required to help the Maintenance Manager coordinate renovations and additional projects.

Experience in a similar role is preferred, along with any qualifications or exposure to PAT testing, electrics, plumbing, fire safety, carpentry, plant room management, health, and safety.
