Job summary

Michael Page is assisting a leading manufacturing client in Cardiff to recruit an ambitious engineering leader who will oversee maintenance, CAPEX projects and continuous improvement initiatives on site. The role focuses on reliability, performance and driving tangible improvements across the engineering team.

Qualifications

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in manufacturing, FMCG or production environments.
  • Strong understanding of maintenance best practices, asset reliability and continuous improvement.
  • Experience leading projects, mentoring colleagues, supervising teams or driving operational improvements, and influencing stakeholders across Operations and Engineering.
  • Lean, TPM or Six Sigma experience would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the maintenance and engineering team.
  • Deliver capital investment and continuous improvement projects.
  • Drive equipment reliability, uptime and engineering performance.
  • Develop and optimise preventative and predictive maintenance strategies.
  • Oversee engineering systems, CMMS and maintenance planning.
  • Manage engineering stores, spare parts and inventory control.
  • Support new equipment installations and NPI projects.
  • Collaborate with Operations to improve efficiency, productivity and site performance.
  • Drive a culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Manage engineering budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities.
