Maintenance and Repair Handyperson - Care Services
Based in Swale | Covering Sutton, Sevenoaks & Surrounding Areas
• £28,192 per annum | Full-time, 40 hours per week
• 28 days holiday per year (including bank holidays)
• Work van and tools supplied
Are you a practical person who takes pride in doing a job properly, with care and attention to detail? Were looking for a Handy Person to help us maintain our care homes to a high standard ensuring safe, comfortable and welcoming environments for the people we support.
This is more than just a maintenance role its about being a respectful and trusted presence in peoples homes. You'll be expected to work with sensitivity, maintain professional boundaries, and uphold the highest standards of confidentiality.
What You'll Be Doing as our Maintenance and Repair Handyperson:
• Carrying out planned maintenance including painting, decorating, and minor repairs
• Responding to day-to-day repair requests (e.g. locks, lighting, flooring, furniture, blocked toilets)
• Keeping external areas clean and safe, especially in bad weather
• Ensuring clear and safe access to all properties, including Head Office
• Cleaning and maintaining lighting systems, carpets, floors and furniture when needed
• Managing your own work schedule efficiently and meeting deadlines
• Working within a set budget and using a company account card to purchase materials
• Keeping records of completed work and outstanding jobs
• Participating in an out-of-hours on-call rota when required
• Ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety, Equal Opportunities and safeguarding policies

What Were Looking For in our Maintenance and Repair Handyperson:
• A trustworthy, practical person with strong time management skills
• Ability to balance planned tasks with reactive, urgent work
• Someone who approaches each job with respect, kindness and professionalism
• A strong sense of confidentiality and clear professional boundaries, including adequate personal or professional experience with power tools
• Basic understanding of utilities, repairs and safe working practices
• Basic IT skills
• A full UK driving licence (essential)
• An enhanced DBS check (essential arranged by us)
