Job summary

Randstad C&P in Cumbria is seeking a Maintenance Electrician to join an established FM company's team. The permanent, full-time role offers a competitive salary up to £45,000 p.a., a company van, and opportunities for professional development.

You will carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance, inspections, and testing, ensure compliance with BS 7671, and support management while supervising subcontractors. On-call rotation participation and a full UK driving licence are required.

Qualifications

• On-call readiness to respond to maintenance demands.
• NVQ Level 3 Electrical Engineering qualification.
• 18th edition City & Guilds certification.
• Full UK driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out comprehensive planned and reactive electrical maintenance.
• Perform electrical planned preventative maintenance for reliability and safety.
• Inspect, test, and service plant and equipment including motors, switchgear, and lighting.
• Conduct statutory inspections such as fixed wire testing and PAT, with accurate records.
• Diagnose faults and perform reactive repairs across electrical systems.
• Ensure work complies with IET BS 7671 and relevant standards.
• Supervise subcontractors and provide technical guidance.
• Maintain Health & Safety compliance and promote a safe working environment.
• Provide technical and professional support to management.

Randstad C&P are working with an established FM company who is seeking a Maintenance Electrician to join their team in Cumbria.

Details:

• Full-time 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Duties:

• As a key member of the engineering team, you'll be responsible for a comprehensive planned and reactive maintenance program.
• Carry out electrical planned preventative maintenance to ensure the reliability and safety of all electrical systems.
• Conducting routine inspections, testing, and servicing of plant and equipment, including motors, control panels, switchgear, and lighting systems.
• Performing statutory inspections such as fixed wire testing and Portable Appliance Testing and maintaining accurate records of all activities.
• Diagnosing faults and performing reactive repairs on a wide range of electrical equipment and systems.
• Ensuring all work is fully compliant with the latest IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) and other relevant industry standards.
• Overseeing the work of subcontractors and providing recommendations.
• Ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety legislation and promoting a safe working environment.
• Providing technical and professional support to management.
