We're hiring: Main Accountant - CWA Finance Team

I'm recruiting for an experienced Main Accountant to join the Civil Works Alliance (CWA) finance team, based in Ipswich or Leiston, supporting the Sizewell C project - a landmark initiative generating low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and powering Britain's energy future for the next 60 years.

As the deputy to the Head of Accounting, you'll play a vital role managing the accounts payable and General Ledger functions, ensuring robust financial controls and timely reporting to our partners. Your expertise will support seamless month-end closures, tax compliance, audit coordination, and subcontractor payments.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading monthly closure activities: account reviews, manual accruals, balance sheet revaluations, bank reconciliations, and IFRS 16 postings.
• Managing subcontractor valuations, payment initiations, and accrual justifications.
• Handling tax returns, including VAT, CIS, and Brexit-related customs duties and import VAT.
• Coordinating internal and external audits, managing asset registers, and updating accounting procedures.

What you'll bring:

• Strong communication skills.
• Proven ability to collaborate across diverse teams including Production, Commercial, Finance, and Cost Control.
• Experience with SAP is highly beneficial.
• Commitment to accuracy, deadlines, and financial integrity.
