Job summary

Morgan Ryder seeks an Electrical Engineer to join a specialist magnetics team in the UK. You will contribute across the full product lifecycle, from customer needs and concept design to simulation, prototyping, testing and manufacturing support.

Ideal candidates bring 2–3 years in power electronics or magnetic component design, with experience in transformers and inductors, and strong analytical skills. Travel to UK/Europe exhibitions may be required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
• 2–3 years in power electronics, power conversion or magnetic component design.
• Experience with transformers, inductors, switch-mode power supplies or related tech.
• Experience with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, power analysers, LCR meters).

Responsibilities

• Design transformers, inductors, chokes and magnetic components for power conversion.
• Support development for switch-mode power supplies and related converters.
• Perform electrical, magnetic and thermal calculations.
• Produce technical docs, specs and design reports.
• Support prototype builds, testing and validation.
• Use simulation tools to optimise performance.
• Collaborate with manufacturing for product introduction.
