Job summary

Luxfer MEL Technologies is recruiting a Magnesium Operative for our Manchester Foundry. The role covers magnesium melting, casting, preparation, and material movement within a hands-on production environment.

Flexibility to support multiple magnesium production areas and shifts is required. The role may be fixed-term or permanent, with a 24/5 pattern and a base salary ranging from £32,954 to £45,833.

Qualifications

• FLT licence is essential.
• Experience in magnesium foundry or heavy industrial environment.
• Strong safety culture and adherence to procedures.
• Ability to work in a hot, physically demanding foundry environment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out magnesium foundry activities safely and per procedures.
• Support melting, casting, charging and material movement per production plan.
• Provide flexible support across other magnesium production areas (lathes, saws, CNC, extrusion press, rolling mills).
• Operate foundry equipment and tools safely, report faults promptly.
• Complete production records and handover information accurately.
• Collaborate with Team Leaders, Foundry, Engineering, Quality and HSE to maintain safe output.
