Job summary

Luxfer MEL Technologies - UK is seeking a Magnesium Operative for our Manchester Foundry. The role involves hands-on production in magnesium melting, casting, preparation and material movement, with flexibility to support other production areas as demand requires.

The ideal candidate is experienced in heavy industrial environments, holds an FLT licence, and has pendant crane exposure. The job demands a safety-first approach, shift flexibility and reliable, right-first-time operation.

Qualifications

• Experience in heavy industrial/manufacturing environments.
• FLT licence is essential.
• Pendant crane experience preferred.
• Ability to work in a hot, foundry environment and follow safety controls.

Responsibilities

• Perform magnesium foundry activities safely following procedures and work instructions.
• Support melting, casting, charging, preparation and material movement per production plan.
• Provide flexible support across other magnesium production areas as required.
• Operate foundry equipment and tools safely, conduct checks and escalate faults.
• Monitor process conditions, temperatures and quality, log records accurately.
