Job summary

Owen Daniels is seeking a skilled Machinist in Croydon to join our client’s team. The role is permanent, with a 36.5-hour week (Mon-Fri) and a salary range of £34,980 to £41,040, dependent on experience.

Responsibilities include reading drawings, setting up manual machines, and working to tight tolerances using precision measuring tools. You will interpret drawings in metric and imperial, operate lathes, mills, drills, borers, and grinders, and contribute to continuous improvement by proposing

• Experience using and setting manual machining equipment.

Job Description

• Reading engineering drawings to guide the machining process to repair/adjust the specific component.
• Setting up and operating manual machinery including lathes, milling, drilling, boring and grinding machines.
• Working to precise specifications, ensuring accuracy and adherence to tolerances using measuring tools like calipers and micrometres.
• Develop solutions to allow workshop teams to overcome immediate challenges by proposing, designing and producing basic, tooling and tooling modifications.

Essential Experience/Skills/Qualifications

• Time served apprenticed trained or relevant qualification.
• Extensive experience using and setting manual machining equipment.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings in both metric and imperial.
