Job summary

Line Up Aviation is recruiting a Machining & Manufacturing Skills Instructor in Portsmouth to deliver high-quality theoretical and practical training in fitting, turning, milling and grinding for military and civilian trainees.

You will develop course materials, assessments and training documentation, and assess trainee performance while supporting the modernisation of Royal Navy training through collaboration with defence partners.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship or equivalent in Fitting and Turning with ONC/City & Guilds/BTEC or equivalent.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings to BS8888 standards.
• Minimum five years post-apprenticeship experience in a relevant workshop environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver theoretical and practical mechanical training in fitting, turning, milling and grinding to trainees.
• Develop and maintain course materials, assessments and training documentation.
• Assess trainee performance with tests and practical evaluations; provide feedback.
• Maintain training equipment and liaise with external stakeholders and military units.
