Job description

Are you an experienced Machine Technician with a passion for efficiency and high standards? We're recruiting on behalf of a leading food manufacturing company looking for a skilled professional to join their production team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in maintaining and operating vital packing equipment within a high-performing and quality-driven environment.

Purpose of the Role:

As a Machine Technician, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the smooth running of packing, wrapping, metal detection, and check-weighing machinery. You will support production targets by executing efficient changeovers, reducing downtime, and applying autonomous maintenance techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate, test, strip down, clean, set up, and change over packaging machinery
• Apply autonomous maintenance techniques including 5S, condition-based monitoring, centre-lining, and quick changeovers
• Conduct conveyor belt changes and monitor their condition
• Carry out safety start-up checks and complete required documentation
• Uphold GMP standards and complete hygiene and quality checks
• Coordinate hygiene cleaning for machinery in the packing area
• Identify and implement corrective actions to improve performance
• Support the delivery of key KPIs such as efficiency, waste reduction, and downtime minimization
• Assist in training and developing feeder and machine operators
• Communicate performance updates and improvements with the team leader
• Contribute to Lean Manufacturing initiatives including 5S and Kaizen
• Escalate any quality concerns and support company quality & food safety standards

What We're Looking For:

• Proven experience in a similar technician/operator role within food or FMCG manufacturing
• A strong team player with great interpersonal and motivational skills
• Positive, responsible attitude and ability to stay calm under pressure
• Confident decision-maker who can think on their feet
• Good understanding of health, safety, and hygiene standards
• Basic IT skills and ability to input data accurately into systems

Back shift 2pm-10pm Monday-Friday
