Team Jobs - Engineering is looking for a Machine Shop Supervisor in Poole. You will lead shift-based teams in a fast-paced machine shop to ensure safe, efficient production meeting quality and delivery targets.

You will drive continuous improvement, coach staff, and collaborate with planning and production teams to optimise resources. This is a hands-on leadership role with a strong focus on development and safety.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading teams in a manufacturing or machine shop environment.
• Strong understanding of CNC machining and Lean manufacturing principles.
• Ability to drive continuous improvement and champion safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead shift-based teams across machine shop operations to ensure safe, efficient production and quality delivery.
• Drive performance against KPIs for production, quality and delivery.
• Champion Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support root-cause investigations and resolve operational issues.
• Maintain high standards of health, safety and housekeeping.
• Collaborate with Planning, Production and other teams to optimise workflows.
• Manage performance, attendance, training and development within the team.

The role as Machine Shop Supervisor

As Machine Shop Supervisor, you'll lead shift-based teams across machine shop operations, ensuring production runs safely, efficiently and to the required quality and delivery standards.

You'll be responsible for:

• Leading, motivating and developing your team across shifts
• Driving performance against production, quality and delivery KPIsMaximising machine shop efficiency, labour and resource utilisation
• Championing Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement
• Supporting root-cause investigations and resolving operational issues
• Maintaining high standards of health, safety and housekeeping
• Working closely with Planning, Production and other key teams
• Managing performance, attendance, training and development within your team
