Job summary

CP Management Solutions LTD is seeking a skilled Machine Operator / Shot Blaster for night shift in Slough to prepare metal surfaces by removing rust and coatings and ensuring cleanliness to industry standards. You will set up and operate shot blasting equipment, inspect surfaces, handle materials safely, perform routine maintenance, and follow health and safety protocols with appropriate PPE.

Full training provided; ISO 8501 SA2.5/SA3 guidance applies.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor manual or automated shot blasting machines, blast pots, and air compressors.
• Strip old coatings, rust, and surface defects to meet specific industry standards (e.g., ISO 8501, SA2.5 / SA3).
• Conduct visual checks and surface profile inspections before and after blasting to identify defects.
• Load, unload, and move components safely
• Perform daily checks, clean dust extraction/reclamation systems, replenish abrasive media, and maintain a tidy workspace.
• Strictly adhere to safety protocols, use dust collectors/ventilation, and wear required PPE (including blasting helmets, re-breathers, and protective overalls).

Job Purpose

To operate shot blasting and surface preparation equipment to strip rust, paint, mill scale, and other contaminants from metal components or structures, achieving required cleanliness standards in line with production and safety targets.

Key Responsibilities

Equipment Operation: Set up, operate, and monitor manual or automated shot blasting machines, blast pots, and air compressors.

Surface Preparation: Strip old coatings, rust, and surface defects to meet specific industry standards (e.g., ISO 8501, SA2.5 / SA3).

Inspection & Quality Control: Conduct visual checks and surface profile inspections before and after blasting to identify defects.

Material Handling: Load, unload, and move components safely
