Job summary

Silencers in Shepshed is looking for an experienced individual to carry out shot blasting on mild steel and stainless steel. Key responsibilities include preparing products for painting and operating blasting equipment while ensuring high quality and safety standards.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in abrasive blasting techniques and should be able to work independently as well as part of a team. A FLT license is advantageous. Enhanced overtime rates and an Employee Assistance Programme for wellbeing support will be provided.

Job description

• Carry out shot blasting on mild steel and stainless to remove rust, old coatings, and surface contaminants.
• Prepare products for painting and coating, ensuring surfaces are properly cleaned and profiled.
• Work with a range of materials, including stainless steel, mild steel.
• Operate blast pots, air compressors, and other blasting equipment efficiently and safely.
• Ensure all work meets high-quality standards and adheres to safety regulations.
• Maintain equipment and work areas to ensure a clean and safe environment.
• Work towards production targets while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Requirements

• Previous experience in shot blasting within a commercial manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of abrasive blasting techniques and materials.
• Ability to handle and operate blasting equipment safely.
• Experience working with industrial coatings is desirable.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• FLT license would be advantageous
• Dayshift: Monday - Friday, 07:30 AM - 4: PM
• Pay Rate: Dependant on experience.
