Job summary

Amnis Recruitment is assisting a manufacturing business in Woolston, Southampton, to recruit Machine Operators/Production Operatives. You’ll operate and monitor production machinery, feed materials, set up machinery, and perform quality checks in a busy factory environment.

We’re seeking reliable, hardworking individuals willing to learn and become part of a team. Shifts are 12-hour rotating days and nights; opportunities exist to work with different machinery and progress within manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Machine Operator or similar is preferred.
• Comfortable working 12-hour rotating day and night shifts.
• Reliable, hardworking and eager to learn.
• Able to work safely in a busy manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor production machinery.
• Feed materials into machines and keep production moving.
• Set up and adjust machinery as required.
• Pack, label and prepare finished products for dispatch.
• Conduct quality checks throughout production.
• Identify and report machine faults and fix where possible.
• Keep the work area clean, organised and safe.

Amnis Recruitment is working with an established manufacturing business in Woolston, Southampton, and we're looking for Machine Operators / Production Operatives to join their growing team.

We're looking for people who are reliable, hardworking and happy to get stuck in. You don't necessarily need packaging experience - if you've worked in manufacturing, production, machine operation, packing, assembly or a busy factory environment, we'd like to hear from you.

The Role

You'll be working within a busy manufacturing environment, with duties including:

• Operating and monitoring production machinery
• Feeding materials into machines and keeping production moving
• Setting up and making adjustments to machinery
• Packing, labelling and preparing finished products
• Carrying out quality checks throughout production
• Handling materials and production reels
• Weighing, wrapping and palletising finished goods
• Identifying and reporting machine faults
• Keeping your work area clean, organised and safe
• Working with the wider team to meet production targets

Depending on your experience, there may also be opportunities to work with printing, lamination, slitting/rewinding, bag-making and converting machinery.

Previous experience as a Machine Operator, Production Operative, Manufacturing Operative, Packaging Operative, Factory Operative or similar would be ideal.
