Job summary

Pertemps Network Group is recruiting a Machine Operator for roles in Northamptonshire. The position involves setting up and running production equipment, monitoring outputs, and maintaining quality through inspections.

Candidates should have manufacturing experience, be able to work rotating or night shifts, and demonstrate reliability, teamwork, and physical stamina for long standing.

Qualifications

• Ability to work rotating shifts (06:00–14:00 and 14:00–22:00) or night shift (22:00–06:00).
• Strong work ethic and punctuality; reliable and committed.
• Physical capability for long standing and some manual handling.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a close-knit team.

Responsibilities

• Machine operation: set up, operate and monitor production machinery per SOPs.
• Meet daily production targets through fed, assembled, and controlled processes.
• Perform visual and physical quality checks on products to ensure standards.
• Adhere to Health & Safety regulations and wear PPE, keep workspace clean.
• Identify and report machine faults to Shift Supervisor promptly.
• Accurately complete production logs, quality sheets and handover reports.

Job description

Both rotating (6am-2pm & 2pm-10pm) or night shifts (10pm-6am) available.

Pay Rate:

Rotating £13.34 per hour

Nights £14.66 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

• Machine Operation: Efficiently set up, operate, and monitor industrial production machinery and equipment in accordance with strict operating procedures (SOPs).
• Production Output: Meet daily production targets through effective machine feeding, assembly, and process control.
• Quality Control: Perform regular, detailed visual and physical checks on products to identify and rectify any defects, ensuring all output meets required quality standards.
• Safety & Compliance: Strictly adhere to all Health & Safety regulations, wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and maintaining a clean, organised, and safe workspace.
• Troubleshooting: Identify and report machine malfunctions, faults, or issues to the Shift Supervisor promptly.
• Documentation: Accurately complete production logs, quality inspection sheets, and shift handover reports.

Candidate Requirements:

Essential Experience & Qualities

• Proven experience in a Manufacturing or Machine Operating/Minding environment.
• Reliability and commitment to working either a rotating shift pattern (06:00 to 14:00 and 14:00 to 22:00) rotating weekly, or a static night shift (22:00 - 06:00).
• A strong, demonstrable work ethic and excellent punctuality.
• Physical capability for a role that involves standing for long periods and some manual handling tasks.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a close-knit team.
