Job summary

DS Smith Plc in Livingston is seeking a Machine Operative to join our packaging division on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Shift Manager, you will operate machinery, uphold safety, and contribute to maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.

You will work across days, afternoons and nights with a shift pattern designed to meet production goals. The role offers benefits including pension, life assurance, income protection, and employee assistance programs.

Responsibilities

• Be accountable for own and others health and safety whilst at work, operating in line with SSOW and company procedures to enable a safe working environment.
• Raise any unsafe acts seen immediately with individuals concerned and immediate reporting of health and safety incidents to management.
• Operate machinery to maximise efficiencies and minimise downtime.
• Achieve set productivity and performance targets ensuring consistent quality standards are met.
• Carry out maintenance and cleaning tasks as scheduled and support improvement initiatives.
