Job summary

Direct Recruitment (Midlands) Ltd is seeking a dependable Machine Operative to join a busy print and packaging production team on a continental shift pattern. You will operate and monitor machinery, feed materials, perform quality checks and assist with basic adjustments while adhering to health and safety standards.

Full training will be provided, and the role offers a stable position within an established operation. This site runs days and nights as part of the continental shift schedule.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in manufacturing, print, packaging or machine operation is advantageous but training can be provided.
• Reliable and punctual, safety conscious and able to follow instructions.
• Quality focused with good attention to detail and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Team player with a hands-on approach and willingness to work continental shifts.
• Physically comfortable with a production role.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate and monitor production machinery.
• Feed materials into machines and remove finished products.
• Carry out quality checks throughout the production process.
• Identify and report machine faults or production issues.
• Complete production paperwork accurately.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised working area.
• Work to production targets and deadlines.
• Follow all health, safety and company procedures.
• Support machine changeovers and basic adjustments.
• Collaborate with production team to minimise downtime and maximise output.
