Job summary

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting for an experienced Machine Operator in Sparkford to run press brakes, CNC routers, and laser cutting equipment. The role involves loading materials, checking sizes, and interpreting drawings in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

You will work a structured early/late shift rotation in a full-time position, supporting on-time delivery and continuous improvement initiatives with a skilled team.

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating press brakes, CNC routers, or laser cutting machines.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Competent using measuring tools such as verniers, squares, protractors, and tape measures.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate press brake, CNC router, and laser cutting machinery.
• Load and unload raw materials and finished components.
• Check materials for correct size, thickness, and grade.
• Interpret engineering drawings and BOMs.
• Use nesting software to optimise material usage.
• Inspect, measure, and deburr finished parts.
• Sort and organise components by job and material type.
• Complete documentation to maintain quality standards.
• Work collaboratively to achieve On-Time Delivery (OTD) targets.
• Carry out basic machine maintenance and maintain accurate records.
• Operate additional machinery as required.
• Identify risks and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure full compliance with health and safety standards.

Introduction

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting for an experienced Machine Operator to join a well-established and growing engineering and manufacturing business in Sparkford.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Machine Operator, Press Brake Operator, CNC Machine Operator, or Laser Operator to work within a fast-paced production environment using a range of advanced machinery.
