Job summary

Rubicon Recruitment Group in Yeovil is seeking a Machine Operator / Production Operative to join our stable, long-term manufacturing team. You will set and operate press brake, CNC router and laser machinery, turning raw sheet metal into precise components and assembling finished products.

The role offers rotating or day shifts, overtime to boost earnings, and a structured environment with clear standards. Training and coaching are provided as you gain new skills across press brakes, CNC

Qualifications

• Operating press brakes, CNC routers or lasers in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience on factory production lines, assembly or quality control in manufacturing.
• Confidence using verniers, protractors, squares, tape measures and hand tools.
• Reading technical drawings; nesting software, Microsoft 365, Sage or Cim50 knowledge an advantage.
• Reliable, conscientious with a strong eye for detail.
• Physical stamina and mobility to stand for long periods and handle materials safely.

Responsibilities

• Setting and operating press brake, CNC router and laser machinery, checking materials for size, thickness and grade.
• Reading technical drawings and Bills of Materials, then measuring and inspecting parts accurately.
• Assembling products using hand and air tools across the production areas.
• Deburring, sorting, routing and labeling parts, and completing quality documentation.
• Inspecting, testing and packaging finished products to specification.
• Following health and safety procedures and contributing to continuous improvement.

Earn up to £15.26 per hour turning raw sheet metal into precise, finished parts, or assembling quality products to an exacting standard.

Two permanent, hands-on roles in Yeovil, with rotating shifts and day shifts available.
