Recruit4staff (Wrexham) Ltd is representing a leading food manufacturing company in their search for Machine Operators to join a modern, high-tech facility in Telford.

The role offers a starting salary of £35,114 with annual uplifts as experience and competence are signed off, rising to £43,486 for those who can run all processes. Shifts are 12 hours on a 4-on-4-off pattern, days and nights, with opportunities for progression.

Qualifications

• Strong technical mindset with hands-on machinery experience.
• Technically competent to investigate issues and solve problems.
• Willingness to learn new techniques and drive continuous improvement.
• Able to work 12-hour day and night shifts on a 4-on-4-off rota.
• Ideally experienced in food/processing industry (not essential).

Responsibilities

• Stay hands-on with the machinery, spotting faults and solving problems.
• Take ownership of your assigned line.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, quality and health & safety standards.
• Run the line to SOPs, including start-up and changeovers.
• Lead a line with operators, training and driving performance.
• Oversee a line with around 5–6 staff.
• Liaise with relevant teams when issues arise around your line.
• Support continuous improvement and refining processes to boost productivity.
• Take ownership of production line performance.

Recruit4staff are proud to be representing their client, a leading food manufacturing company in their search for a number of Machine Operators to work in their leading facility in Telford.

Job Details

• Starting salary of £35,114 which rises as experience/competence are signed off, Level 2 is £39,452 if you can run all processes it can rise to £43,486 (For most this usually takes around 12 months but can be achieved sooner)
• 4 on 4 off, 12 hour shifts rotating days and nights, 07:25 - 19:35/19:35 - 07:25

Responsibilities

• Stay hands-on with the machinery - spotting potential faults, investigating issues and problem solving to prevent downtime.
• You will be taking full ownership & responsibility for your assigned line
• Ensure 100% compliance with Food Safety, Quality, and Health & Safety standards.
• Running the line to standard operating procedures, which include start- up and changeovers.
• Leading a line with machine operators, training and driving performance.
• Typically on a line you will only be overseeing around 5/6 staff
• Liaising with relevant teams when issues may arise surrounding your line
• Liaising with development teams for improvements on standards to drive continuous improvement, supporting refining processes to boost productivity.
• Taking ownership of the production line’s performance, ensuring it runs efficiently and is complete control.

• Someone excited by learning new techniques & technology, with a drive for continuous improvements and lean manufacturing.
• Able to work Days & Nights, 12 hour Shifts -

• An effective communicator who listens and gives clear instructions, someone who isn't afraid of challenge, gaining support when from experts when needed.
• Ideally experienced within the food or processing industry - although not essential
• Must be happy/available to attend a numerical and verbal reasoning test -
