Job description

AMJ Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Machine Operator / CNC Punch Operator for a well-established manufacturing business in the Newcastle-under-Lyme area.

This client is looking for a skilled CNC Punch Operator / Fold Operator to grow with their team and contribute to their long-term plans.

Shift Details

• Day shifts (Monday to Thursday: 07:00 am - 4:00 pm; Friday: 07:00 am - 1:00 pm)

Compensation

• £12.60 - £13.74 per hour, dependent on experience (rising when permanent)

Terms and Start Date

• Temp to perm after 12 weeks
• Start date: ASAP, following successful interview

Role Purpose

Configure and operate punch press machines to cut, shape, and form metal used in door production, based on CAD designs.

Key Duties

1. Set up punch machines correctly.
2. Operate panel benders, load programs, and check for corrections.
3. Maintain tooling.
4. Select punch programs.
5. Position and remove parts from dies.
6. Perform dimensional inspections.
7. Perform routine operator maintenance.
8. Achieve or exceed production targets and KPIs.
9. Report defective materials or conditions to management.

Required Experience

• Ideally 3 years of CNC punch and/or fold operating experience.
• Ideally 1 year of metal door manufacturing experience.
• Training in safety, electrostatic discharge, and foreign object damage awareness.
• Knowledge of quality systems.
