Job summary

Howdens is recruiting a Machine Operator at our Work Surfaces facility in Holme-on-Spalding-Moor, East Yorkshire. You will grind and polish quartz & Dekton worktops using portable tools and work in a wet environment to deliver high-quality finishes.

The role involves operating finishing machinery safely, inspecting products, and ensuring output targets are met. A strong eye for detail and a collaborative approach are essential.

Job description

Howdens is recruiting a Machine Operator to join our team at Howdens Work Surfaces, our solid surfaces production facility in Holme-on-Spalding-Moor, East Yorkshire.

This is a hands-on role where you'll be responsible for grinding and polishing quartz & Dekton worktops to achieve a high-quality finish using portable grinding and polishing tools.

As part of the finishing process, you will be working in a wet production environment, where water is used throughout the polishing operation.

Pay Rate

• Band C: £35,786.40 per annum + Shift allowance £4,882.80 per annum
• Band B: £43,696.64 per annum + Shift Allowance £4,882.80 per annum

Shift Pattern

• Sunday to Thursday nights | 9:45pm - 6:00am
• Regular opportunities for overtime are available to increase your earnings

What Will You Be Doing as a Machine Operator

• Operating finishing machinery and equipment safely and efficiently
• Sanding, inspecting, and preparing products to achieve the required finish
• Carrying out quality checks to identify and resolve any defects
• Following production schedules and meeting output targets
