Job summary

Office Angels is recruiting a Machine Operator in Canterbury, Kent. The role offers a starting hourly rate of £14.00 with progression to £16.87 based on experience and development, on a 5 out of 7 day shift pattern. This is a permanent position within a leading fresh produce business.

The successful candidate will operate grading lines, manage production plans, and ensure compliance with food safety and health & safety standards, while supporting a proactive team environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with production lines is desirable.
• Strong numerical and mathematical ability is essential.
• Good level of English and clear communication required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out grading line start-up checks and ensure equipment is ready for production.
• Print and distribute daily production plans to relevant departments.
• Monitor staff compliance with procedures, food safety, and health & safety standards.
• Ensure the grading area is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and organisation.
• Set up and prepare grading jobs on company systems, ensuring all parameters align with production plans.
• Monitor product quality, sizing, packaging, and customer specifications throughout production.
• Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to maintain standards and make adjustments where required.
