Job summary

Pertemps Northampton seeks a dedicated Manufacturing Operative to join the production team at the Desborough facility. The role focuses on safe, high-quality output and efficient machine operation.

You will work a rotating double-day shift (06:00–14:00 and 14:00–22:00) on a weekly basis, with emphasis on reliability and teamwork. Mandatory drug/alcohol testing applies during induction; must reside in the UK.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a Manufacturing or Machine Operating/Minding environment is preferred.
• Reliability and commitment to rotating double days (06:00–14:00 and 14:00–22:00) on a weekly rotation.
• Strong work ethic and punctuality.
• Ability to stand for long periods and perform light manual handling.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor production machinery in line with SOPs.
• Meet daily production targets through efficient feeding, assembly and process control.
• Perform visual and physical quality checks on products to ensure standards.
• Adhere to Health & Safety rules and wear PPE at all times.
• Identify and report machine faults promptly to the Shift Supervisor.
• Complete production logs and quality inspection sheets for shift handover.

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Manufacturing Operative to join our production team at our clients facility in Desborough. This is a critical role, ensuring the consistent, safe, and high-quality output of our manufactured products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Machine Operation: Efficiently set up, operate, and monitor industrial production machinery and equipment in accordance with strict operating procedures (SOPs).
• Production Output: Meet daily production targets through effective machine feeding, assembly, and process control.
• Quality Control: Perform regular, detailed visual and physical checks on products to identify and rectify any defects, ensuring all output meets required quality standards.
• Safety & Compliance: Strictly adhere to all Health & Safety regulations, wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and maintaining a clean, organised, and safe workspace.
• Troubleshooting: Identify and report machine malfunctions, faults, or issues to the Shift Supervisor promptly.
• Documentation: Accurately complete production logs, quality inspection sheets, and shift handover reports.

Candidate Requirements:

Essential Experience & Qualities

• Proven experience in a Manufacturing or Machine Operating/Minding environment is strongly preferred.

• A strong, demonstrable work ethic and excellent punctuality.
• Physical capability for a role that involves standing for long periods and some manual handling tasks.

Pay Rate: Double Day £13.34 per hour
