Recruit 4 Talent is sourcing Machine Minders for an award-winning food manufacturing site in Bilston, West Midlands. This privately owned company serves multiple sectors in the UK and abroad and offers permanent, full-time roles with morning or evening shifts.

You will perform machine interventions, start-up and routine maintenance, analyse live data, and support quality and sustainability targets. Hourly rates range by level, with benefits and progression opportunities provided.

Qualifications

Experience as a Machine Minder or similar role in manufacturing.
Experience in start-up and close-down checks.
Routine maintenance experience.
Engineering background.
Vocational qualification such as NVQ/BTEC/HNC preferred.
Willing to work mornings or evenings including Saturdays.
Strong communicator with colleagues.

Responsibilities

Keep production line running smoothly and report issues.
Carry out start-up and close-down checks.
Perform routine maintenance on line equipment.

Job description

Machine Minders sought to join an award-winning, £multimillion turnover food manufacturing company based in Bilston. They are a privately owned company who supply numerous sectors including foodservice, retail, wholesale and catering, both in the UK and abroad.

These are permanent, full-time positions with morning shifts and evening shifts available.

There are 3 x Machine Minder roles available on each shift from Level 1 to Level 3, with the hourly rate reflecting the level of the role (see below).

Mornings: 5.15am/5.20am-2.45pm/2.50pm Monday to Friday

Evenings: 2pm-10.30pm Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm Saturday

The Role:

As a Machine Minder you will undertake machine interventions and first line trouble shooting to ensure the machinery runs to its optimum. Your duties will include:

Ensure that the production line is operating smoothly and correctly, and any issues are reported
Perform start-up and close down check procedures
Complete routine maintenance of specific line equipment
Analyse, interpret and report live data for performance evaluation
Deliver the department daily plan
Maintain, monitor and achieve operational targets
Monitor and improve product quality
Complete line quality checks (CLS)
Perform production process checks in the department
Continuously identify and implement workplace improvements
Maintain and promote measures that support waste minimisation and sustainability in operations
Support internal and external audits
Support GMP in the department
To ensure that photographic standards are adhered to and that customer specifications are followed.
To undertake such other duties as may be reasonably required for the effective operation of production.
To work as part of a team and effectively communicate with all colleagues, Supervisors and Management staff
Keep training records up to date.

Your Experience:

Experience as a Machine Minder or similar machine maintenance role within a manufacturing, industrial or similar environment
Experience in performing start-up and close-down checks
Routine maintenance experience
Background in engineering
Vocational engineering qualification e.g. NVQ, BTEC, HNC etc would be highly beneficial
Happy to work either morning shifts, or afternoon shifts including Saturday days
Strong communicator with ability to work effectively with colleagues
