Humber Recruitment are resourcing a Machine Driver (360 Excavator Operator) for a brand-new client of ours based in Grimsby on a short-term contract with a view to be extended.
About the Role
We are currently looking for an experienced Machine Driver / 360 Excavator Operator to join a busy waste disposal and recycling operation.
The successful candidate will be responsible for operating excavators safely and efficiently, primarily operating a 14-tonne 360 excavator, along with carrying out general machine duties across the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a 14-tonne 360° tracked excavator.
- Load, move, sort and process waste and recyclable materials.
- Feed processing/recycling machinery where required.
- Carry out excavation, loading, stockpiling and general material-handling duties.
- Conduct daily pre-start checks and report defects or maintenance issues.
- Operate machinery in accordance with site rules, risk assessments and safe systems of work.
- Maintain a clean and safe working area.
- Work safely around other mobile plant, vehicles, pedestrians and site personnel.
- Assist with general site duties when required.
- Follow all environmental, health and safety procedures applicable to a waste/recycling environment.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience operating a 360° excavator, ideally in a waste, recycling, quarry, demolition or similar environment.
- Valid 360 Excavator Above 10 Tonnes operator qualification.
- Experience operating machines around 14 tonnes.
- Good understanding of site health & safety requirements.
- Ability to work safely and efficiently in a busy waste-processing environment.
- Reliable, punctual and safety-conscious approach to work.
Tickets / Qualifications
Essential:
- 360 Excavator – Above 10 Tonnes – Tracked
- CPCS A59 or equivalent, where applicable, or
- NPORS C202 / N202, depending on the client’s site requirements.
Desirable / Client Requirement:
- 360 Excavator – Below 10 Tonnes – Tracked
- Appropriate CPCS/NPORS category if the operator will also be required to operate smaller excavators.
- Relevant CSCS/NPORS registration/card, where required by the site.
- CITB Health, Safety & Environment Test, where applicable to the required card/site access.
Personal Attributes

- Good awareness of surroundings and other site users.
