Job summary

GAP Group Limited is seeking a Technical Support Engineer for its Survey & Safety division. You will provide expert technical support across our Machine Control products and engineering software, assisting customers both remotely and on-site to maximize tool performance.

Based in Scotland or the North of England, this role requires regular UK travel, including overnight stays. You will install, calibrate, train users, and contribute to service delivery across GAP depots and projects.

Qualifications

Experience with Machine Control equipment, software, and related construction technology solutions.
Knowledge of digital modelling, earthworks, and road construction applications.
Strong problem-solving abilities to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
Excellent communication and organisational skills; able to manage multiple priorities.
Holder of a full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively across the UK.

Responsibilities

Provide expert technical support, troubleshooting, and engineering advice remotely and on-site.
Install, commission, calibrate, and maintain Machine Control equipment and software.
Deliver product demonstrations and technical training to customers and internal teams.
Support customers with digital models, data transfer workflows, and Machine Control applications in earthworks and construction projects.
Collaborate with Depot Managers and Sales Team to identify opportunities and deliver excellent customer service.
