Job Description:

FM Conway is looking for a M5 Traffic Management Operative to join our Traffic Light division based from our Hitchin depot, which is close to Stevenage, Hertfordshire. You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis, with day shifts or night shifts available. As our M5 Traffic Management Operative, you will work as part of a team to carry out a range of services including setting up temporary traffic lights, installing, maintaining, and removing traffic management. The duties of the M5 Traffic Management Operative role will include:

• Setting up temporary traffic lights as required
• Assisting with the diversion of traffic
• Maintaining and removing the traffic lights within the required time scale
• Managing traffic flow at the temporary traffic lights, ensuring the public abide by lights
• Working closely with management and crews, taking instructions from the management team
• Ensuring site safety and carrying out on-site assessments
• Taking appropriate action in emergencies, including notifying the relevant personnel
• Being on call, out of hours, on a rota basis if required

What skills and experience do you need?

Applicants should have knowledge of traffic management operations, hold a valid CSCS card, and possess at least one of the following traffic management tickets: Lantra, M1/2, M5, M6, 12AB Operatives, LTMO, or TMF. Ability to read and interpret CAD traffic management drawings and compliance with RAMS is essential.
