Job summary

Nexus Careers Group Ltd is recruiting an experienced M&E Small Works Project Manager to join a leading global facilities management organisation, based at one of London's most recognisable and technically complex commercial buildings.

This is a site-based role delivering a portfolio of M&E small works in a live, high-profile environment. You will manage projects from concept to handover, coordinating contractors and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance in occupied spaces.

Qualifications

• Strong Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services engineering background.
• Experience moving into Project Management from technical roles.
• Proven experience delivering M&E projects in occupied commercial buildings.
• Experience managing multiple small works projects simultaneously.
• Knowledge of CDM Regulations and health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple M&E small works projects from initial concept through to completion and handover.
• Deliver projects typically ranging from minor upgrades through to works valued around £250,000.
• Manage mechanical and electrical refurbishments, plant replacements, upgrades and improvement projects.
• Develop project scopes, programmes, budgets and delivery plans.
• Coordinate feasibility, design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover.
• Procure and manage specialist M&E contractors and subcontractors.
• Monitor programme, cost, quality and project risk.
• Manage variations, change control and project expenditure.
• Ensure works are delivered safely within a live operational building.
• Coordinate shutdowns, isolations and works affecting critical building services.
• Review technical drawings, specifications and contractor proposals.
• Ensure compliance with CDM, health & safety and relevant building regulations.
• Carry out regular site inspections and monitor contractor performance.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, O&M information and as-built records.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders.
• Provide clear project updates, financial reporting and progress forecasts.

Location: London Bridge

Salary: £80,000 + £5,000 car allowance

We are recruiting for an experienced M&E Small Works Project Manager to join a leading global facilities management organisation, based at one of London's most recognisable and technically complex commercial buildings.

This is a site-based project role responsible for delivering a portfolio of mechanical and electrical small works projects within a live, high-profile environment.

We are specifically looking for someone who started their career within Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering and has subsequently progressed into Project Management.

This is not a general construction or purely fit-out Project Manager position.

The Role

• Manage multiple M&E small works projects from initial concept through to completion and handover.

About You

• Strong Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services engineering background.
• Previous hands-on experience as an Engineer, Supervisor, Technical Manager or similar before moving into Project Management.
• Proven experience delivering M&E projects within occupied commercial buildings.
• Experience managing multiple small works projects simultaneously.
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical building services.
• Experience managing contractors, budgets, programmes and project risk.
• Comfortable working around live plant and critical engineering infrastructure.
• Experience within flagship commercial buildings, high-rise towers, banking, corporate headquarters or similarly complex estates would be highly advantageous.
• Good knowledge of CDM Regulations and construction health & safety.
• Relevant M&E, Engineering, Building Services or Project Management qualification would be advantageous.
