Job summary

Build Recruitment is seeking an experienced M&E Site Manager for a major new-build project in Braintree. You will oversee mechanical and electrical installations across three warehouse units, driving quality, safety, and on-time delivery from site setup to practical completion.

The role requires SMSTS/SSSTS, CSCS Gold Card, and strong communication skills, with experience on commercial projects. The contract runs for approximately 4–5 months, with daily site operations and reporting

Qualifications

• Proven knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
• SMSTS or SSSTS certification.
• CSCS Gold Card or higher.
• Experience using the Dalux system.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated experience on commercial projects.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
• Telehandler Licence - Desirable

Responsibilities

• Managing site inductions and supervising subcontractors, ensuring compliance with risk assessments and method statements.
• Carrying out and documenting equipment safety checks.
• Delivering daily Toolbox Talks to reinforce health and safety standards.
• Monitoring progress against the project programme, adjusting schedules to meet deadlines.
• Ensuring all works comply with contract drawings and specifications.
• Conducting and recording quality inspections of installations.
• Providing regular progress reports to M&E Contracts Managers.
• Maintaining effective daily communication with the main contractor.

The Role

We're looking for an experienced and highly motivated M&E Site Manager to oversee the installation of mechanical and electrical services on a major new-build project comprising three warehouse units in Braintree. You'll play a key role in driving quality, safety, and timely delivery throughout construction, working closely with subcontractors and the main contractor from site setup through to practical completion.
