Job summary

James Lewis Recruitment is seeking an M&E Quantity Surveyor to work on rail and infrastructure projects in London and the South East. This permanent role offers a salary of £75,000-£90,000 plus package and requires strong commercial delivery of M&E and associated systems.

You will join an established contractor delivering M&E, building services, telecommunications and station systems across rail environments, working closely with project teams to manage cost, risk and final accounts

Qualifications

• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor within M&E, building services, rail or infrastructure.
• Strong subcontractor commercial experience and cost reporting.
• Familiarity with NEC or JCT contracts is useful.
• Organised, commercially aware and able to work with project teams.

Responsibilities

• Managing commercial control across M&E, building services and infrastructure packages.
• Preparing applications, valuations, cost reports, forecasts and CVRs.
• Managing subcontractor accounts from procurement through final account.
• Reviewing subcontract orders, payment applications, variations and change events.
• Identifying, pricing and agreeing variations with clients and subcontractors.
• Working with project managers and engineers to track progress and cost movement.
• Supporting procurement, tender comparisons and subcontractor appointments.
• Maintaining commercial records, notices, correspondence and project documentation.
• Helping manage risk, opportunity, cost control and cash position on live projects.
• Supporting client meetings and contract reporting.
